Munnar: breathtakingly beautiful – a haven of peace and tranquility – the idyllic tourist destination in God is own country. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations ­ pristine valleys and mountains­ exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests ­ aroma of spice scented cool air ­ yes! This beautiful destination has all these and more. It is the place you would love to visit ­ it is the place you would wish never to leave. Munnar is such a beautiful place in Kerala, which cannot be portrayed in a single canvas. Everything and anything here will make us excited. The hills, the mist, the valleys, the streams, the waterfalls, tea plantations, rare flora and fauna…. It is a beautiful tea town in Idukki district of Kerala easily accessible from Kochi and Coimbatore. The gorgeous hill station is ideally placed in the South Western Ghats of India. With an area of around 557 sq km, Munnar in Devikulam Taluk is the largest panchayat in Kerala. Arrive in Cochin and Drive towards Munnar. En route experience the scenic waterfalls & drives. Munnar is a picturesque hill station situated in the eastern part of Kerala, lush green-carpeted tea and coffee plantations surround it. The beautiful landscapes, cozy weather, and the smell of tealeaves make Munnar one of the most sought-after destinations in South India. Today morning after breakfast visit Mattupetty dam which has an artificial lake built by a small hydroelectric project. Echo Point is known for the natural echo affect it produces. Tea Museum (Closed on Mondays) explains about the processing of tea and history of Munnar and Eravikulam National Park is known as the natural habitat of endangered Nilgiri Tahr (Closed during FEB & MAR every year due to breeding period). Alleppey Venice of the East check in to the hotel and later after a small fresh up will proceed for Sightseeing tour of Alleppey covering backwaters and beach and evening back to hotel OR Alleppey Houseboat (Applicable only if Houseboat Accommodation) Morning after breakfast proceed to Alleppey , where you will be booked to stay overnight on the Houseboat. Staying in Houseboat is breathtakingly stimulating experience. While sailing down a maze of canals one sees different scenes from the villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and local life. Lunch, evening tea & snacks, dinner next day breakfast and will be provided in the boat. The cool breeze from the Lake make you sleep early in the night after anchoring in a fancy place.
